I've been grabbing episodes of
Freddy's Nightmares off of Chiller via my DVR and I finally got around to watching some of it yesterday afternoon. Frankly, there's nothing remarkable about this series other than it somehow managed to stay on the air for two years. If you stumble across it, probably the only episode worth watching is the first one; it tells the story of Freddy's arrest, the trial that never happened because of a procedural foul-up on the part of the police and the vigilante mob that eventually burns him alive only for him to come back and start his dream job.
Everything else is generic horror that just happens to take place in Springwood.
Bonus trivia: TCM director Tobe Hooper directed the first episode!
