I am here

I have not lost faith but, I have lost the lens. The faint smell of vinegar etched into my fingers that was once embedded into my developing soul has faded.
I came from crayfish lurking in creek beds. Velvet moss growing wildly where the Robin ruffled his feathers and spilled his seeded snack. Catching sunfish from the spring fed pond and throwing them back taught me never to settle for something too small. My wandering mind came from days spent not speaking, soaking up the fine details of life that are often overlooked when one speaks too much nonsense. My rich appreciation came from fresh rhubarb stalks snapped straight from Irvin’s garden. Helen’s blueberry pies baked so thick with love that they never lost their shape and gentle deer whose lives were ended as their white tails fled from the scope of my father’s rifle. I learned not to substitute for things you honestly need and not to burn the edges of life in Eleanor’s kitchen while my mother’s hands were always there to teach me to craft creativity perfectly.
My life comes from chaos sprinkled with a few drops of success. I’ve come from all of these places to a definitive high where I want to do anything but move my own body. I came here to realize your eyes are all over this town. Golden sunrises shine behind our cerulean stares. I long to whisper sweet and slow, nothing in your ear- let me show you how far I’ve come to get right here.
