Yeah he's a homunculus. It doesn't surprise me, really in the least bit. The price people pay to do something for the person they love...People will do anything to protect or help the ones that they care about. Once a homunculus is born, you cannot change him back. There is no way to reverse the process. After he ingests the stones then..Well, that homunculus's powers awaken and the more violent streak takes over.

I should know. That's what happened to me.

The only way to rid one's self of the honunculi binds is to be sealed and I don't think anyone wants to do that. That is a fate far worse than death. We should accept Alphonse or whoever he is now instead of shunning him. Right now as he's going through this change, this is when he needs his friends and family the most.
