Whee!

Jan 02, 2011 23:17

Look at me, two posts in a row! I haven't done that in...uhm. months. >_>

I've been quite the busy little bee today. I've set up a new community for a world akire_yta and I play in. WE're hoping to open it up as a public playground soon, but i had to get everything set to go. I've written stuff, (~GASP~) I've editted hings I had written and gotten them posted where they belonged. I've done laundry and a touch of housework, and I've NOT murdered my offspring (yes, this is an accomplishment. He's a six year old boy. If any of you have ever had any interactions with a six year old boy, you understand.)

Can you tell I've been working on my resolutions?

Speaking of, I did make some!

1) do yoga at least 3 times a week
2) eat less refined sugar
3) quit procrastinating
4) write!
5) let the little stuff go.

Notice that there's no "LOSE WEIGHT!" on there? or any of the other common resolutions? That's because I'm really bad at sticking to those resolutions. A few years ago, I pointed out that I don't really have resoltions so much as goals that I break into managable parts. That still holds true, but I"ve also noticed that, as I get older, the word goal is as nasty a word as resolution. Not much I can do about that, so I've just determined to call a spade a spade, and go on my merry way.

I'm so full of the babble, aren't i?

Other than that, I don't suppose there's much of anything new. New semester starts in a week. Am determined to do at least as well as I did for Fall, which means...well, lots of A's. I don't think I ever posted my spring schedule here, actually, so here's an idea of what I'm in for.

Mondays, 2:00-4:45 pm: Methods Teaching Reading
Mondays, 5:00-7:45 pm: Student Development and Learning
Wednesdays, 2:00-4:45 pm: Florida Writers
Wednesdays, 5:00-7:45 pm: Colloquium*
Thursdays, 2-4:45 pm: Shakespeare's Unruly Women
Thursdays, 5:00-7:45 pm: Language Arts Methods for 6-12 grades**

*Sometimes, this class will go much later. Colloquium is basically "Your Local Environment", and includes fieldtrips to places like Six Mile Cypress Slough and the downtown area for various reasons. My schedule tells me to expect occasional class endings around 9 pm. >.<

**This class only has 5 class meetings. I have no idea what this means for my schedule, whether it requires student teaching, significant online classwork, or if it's just that kind of class.

I suspect I'll have lost my grip on calm by the middle of February!

Hahahah. Ahaha. Haha. Ha. o_o
