Summary: Leonard always knew there was something different about him, but he was never sure how to handle it... until now.

Leonard always knew he was a bit different than everyone else, even at a young age. He was always able to sense people’s feeling and pain as if they were his own. Strange things always happened around him, especially when he was upset. His parents believed he was gifted and blessed by God, able to help people by knowing how they felt. The people at his church seemed to think he was possessed by demons or at least attractive to them. He grew to ignore the weird looks and to pretend that he wasn’t different. However, he always found himself drawn to areas with lots of people and energy. They made him feel… good. In that same vein, he always found himself restless when he was alone or in quiet places or places with very negative energy. The death of his father nearly killed him, literally. The only thing that saved him was the frantic and excited energy of the hospital, no matter how hard he tried to ignore it.

The same sort of energy surrounded the Starfleet Academy campus. It felt like the perfect place, at least for a little while. Six months in, the negative energy from everyone’s was getting to him. His roommate and close friend, Jim Kirk, noticed him getting more agitated by the day. When he finally snapped on the poor kid for no reason, the main light in their room blew out in a shower of sparks. Jim jumped, obviously startled, but Leonard somehow expected it, standing firm. The blonde kept looking at him, eyes darting to the blown light every so often.

“Bones…” he said slowly, “What was that? What just happened?”

“I dunno..”

Leonard tried to leave, pushing his way past Jim to get to the door. Jim beat him to it, blocking it and saying, “No, Bones! C’mon! We have to talk about this!”

“No! We don’t! Just forget about it!”

“I can’t just forget that! Look, I don’t care how weird it is or what exactly is going on. I just wanna know if you’re okay. You’ve been so uptight and upset lately. Does that have something to do with it?”

Leonard remained silent, unsure of what to say. Jim sighed and said, “Bones… you are my best friend. You are the only one who can tolerate all my shit and come away in one piece. I… I’m worried about you. What’s going on? Please tell me.”

“I… I’m just…” he stammered, trying to figure out how to best explain it, “I’m different, Jim. I… I need to… soak up… the energy around me to feel… whole… to survive almost. But it’s hard. I can’t let on about it. I need… I need to have someone… give me energy, specifically for me. I… I don’t know how I know that, but… it’s what I need.”

He didn’t look up. He couldn’t meet Jim’s eyes. It was a long moment before Jim carefully lifted Leonard’s chin, forcing him to look. His eyes were very blue, showing no trace of being freaked out at all. His face only showed concern. Leonard’s bottom lip trembled slightly, tears beginning to brim in his eyes, and Jim pulled him into a hug, holding him tightly. Leonard could feel the energy around Jim’s body but held back, not wanting to take any from him.

“Please, Bones… I wanna help you. I’ll do whatever you need me to do. Just tell me what you need.”

“No, Jim, I can’t ask you to do that,” he said, pulling away to look at him, “ I can’t-“

“I want to help you. You need this. I can handle it. I promise.”

Leonard leaned in and kissed him quickly, blushing and looking up at him. Jim gave him a soft smile, so he pressed in again. Jim’s lips were soft and warm. He radiated love and warmth and concern. Leonard placed one hand over Jim’s heart, gripping his shirt tightly. After a little while, he pushed his tongue past Jim’s lips, which the blonde parted eagerly for him. Every so often, no matter how much he loved the feeling of their tongues sliding together, he would break the kiss for a little bit, bring his hand up to Jim’s face and using his thumb to hold his mouth open. As Jim’s panted slightly, Leonard took careful breaths, taking in the energy of his arousal before kissing him again. He could feel Jim pushing energy towards him, just for him to use. Somehow, he innately knew that he had to give some back, that he couldn’t just take it all, so he pushed some back. Jim kissed him harder.

“Jim,” he breathed, “let me make you feel good. Please.”

“Only if it helps you.”

“It will. I promise.”

Leonard broke the kiss and pulled his shirt off, doing the same for Jim. He led the blonde to his bed, crawling across to sit with his back against the wall. Jim sat between his legs, back pressed to his chest, head lolling back onto Leonard’s shoulder. The doctor pressed one hand to his throat, opposite the artery, and the other over his heart. He kissed Jim all along his neck and jaw, drawing the energy directly from his body. Jim’s fingers gripped his thighs. The hand on his chest slipped downwards to unzip his fly and pull out his already half-hard penis. Jim moaned softly as Leonard began to stroke him slowly, hand swirling over the head to gather the precome there. Fingers dug harder into his thighs as his breathing
picked up. Leonard continued to adorn his throat with kisses and licks. Moans and whimpers reached his ears as he worked Jim’s hard length, hand sliding easily over the hot flesh. The occasional kiss was pressed to his throat and jaw. The energy rolling off him was intoxicating and exhilarating. It filtered through his body, hitting all the major points it needed to, cycling through, refining before a small amount went back to Jim.

“Jim… you’re the most wonderful person I’ve ever met. Thank you so much… I love you.”

With a quiet gasp, Jim came in his hand, spurting everywhere. He kissed Leonard deeply.

“I love you, Leonard,” he murmured, “I’d do anything for you. Remember that.”

“Always.”
