My birthday/anniversary gift...

i never thought i would do it again, but i desperately wanted this piece for a very long time... i do believe it turned out fantastic.

i ended up deciding to do it out here after finding the "koi master". his specialty is japanese art and has won awards at conventions, etc. he was a cool guy. i told him a price that i needed it to be and to just make it around that size. he ended up making it huge which of course i'm okay with, but it turned out really inexpensive. basically i have a half sleeve. like one more piece and it'd be done. it's from the "ditch" to parallel with my armpit. the whole inner arm front and back and up to my anchor. my poor anchor FINALLY has company and water... but he is now (up against the fresh ink) looking a lot older than i ever noticed!!

4-8 years since i've gotten all of my other tattoos. it doesn't seem that long ago at all. but i was very nervous because it had been so long and i do think some of my pain tolerance has maybe went away. i don't remember it hurting THAT bad. i was probably a little bit more determined back then. either that or shaun the african just had the special touch. plus this one does go into the "ditch" which is a pain unlike any other area of the arm. (which i do remember) as well as near the armpit, that sucks bad too. (2 places I never wanted to venture again) I was okay for like the first hour and a half but the last part i was just a little unnerved. but it's all well now. it only took a little over 2 hours. plus at that 3/4 point he sent cody and erick across the street for a bottle of "bacteen" and poured it on my arm... it takes the edge off. why i didn't know about this special potion before??? it's for sunburns but it does help a little with tattooing. i guess he always recommends it for those who have a longer sitting.
