can i just say that i LOVE Jimmy Smits? i freakin' LOVE him! i was just thinking about this sunday's episode... it struck a chord. the black/brown tension is ever present where i live. especially vivid while i ride the bus all over town... i get an ugly perspective on the town that way sometimes. wish politicians were as awesome as Smits' character. ugh, now i gotta go get ready to volunteer at a place full of real politics (& quasi-politicians)... although marginally, thank god!
oh yeah, and driving home the other night, i heard a frightening ad for jim gilchrist's campaign... my uncle and i had no idea that an election was going on but there was a special congressional election in Orange County (too Republican to keep a person sane) and THANK GOD gilchrist lost! sadly though, he did garner 25% of the vote and will probably run again for something somewhere, banking on people's ever-growing fears of illegal immigration... @$#*#)!&#%@(!)#&%@)!_!&#^#*@))!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
