Sorry but that sort of diet will not work at all. You need to eat fat in order to lose weight and maintain at least 1000 calories a day if not more. By starving yourself of fats, protein and carbs, you're putting your body at risk and you will simply yo yo your weight loss. FYI, 99.9% of diets you'll find on the net and in magazines don't work and very few are created by specialist nutritionists who know what they're talking about. If you really want to go on a diet, speak to a Doctor who has specifically gone onto train in nutrition. Sorry if this comment sounds like an order or a negative but you're just setting yourself up for a fall if you continue to 'diet' this way so its best to get into good habits sooner than later...bad habits are hard to break.

If you need any advice about dieting or anything, ask me, there isn't too much I don't know about it.

Robin.

Robin, number one.. why the hell are you reading my LJ, and second off I'm not riding my body of fats because I can eat special foods that have what I need but are low cal. Also, I'm not straving myself because I'm fine.

477 Cal is starving yourself no matter how you look at it. Low Cal diets aren't proper diets because you fuck up your satiety levels which ultimately leads to binging. I was looking thru Amanda's friends page and came across your entry and though I'd be nice and make some suggestions and try to be friendly by offering you my experience and knowledge in nutrition.

477 is okay but it went up to like.. 1000 anyway. I suck. lol.

And yeah; it's special diet stuffs. At least I'm not doing this AND diet pills. Though that sounds like a good idea.

But the special diet stuff is a con and doesn't work... the only way you can lose weight is to eat right and exercise. Eating right means having protein and carbs with every meal, even breakfast and eating at least 5 portions of fruit and veg each day. Stuff with artificial sweetners in it which replace sugar aren't gonna help either as your body needs to maintain a certain sugar level. You also need to eat fats which contain omega 3 and 6 oils in them so your body can functionally break food down. This really is the only way to lose weight or maintain a weight you're happy with and you have to exercise at least 3 times a week doing cardiovascular exercise for 30 mins each time.

I exercise almost always. I'm a swimmer. I eat chicken and steak- with pasta. But take away all the gross add ins and the meal isn't that costly in cals. I know this because I've had to do this diet for swimming for 2 years.

Sweet... just remember if you've not got the cals to burn off, you'll end up eating away at your muscles and might get brain shrinkage too. Stuff like mayo and home cooked sauces are good and peanut butter is the best for the right fats that your body needs, its crap with addetives and E numbers which is bad.

well simple, don't yo yo your diet and regulate both your exercise and eating habits then you won't need to diet then compensate by eating huge amounts of pasta and bread before swim meets! it is simple to get into shape, you just have to develop a good routine and seek help from people who know about this sort of stuff. i'm lucky to have a good personal trainer at my gym who i see every 2-3 weeks or so and a friend who knows everything about diet and nutrition so i am more than happy to help anyone else who wants to develop their health routine through diet and exercise. all i know is that you're getting nowhere near enough calories to get into shape and not eating the right foods at the moment. i know we've had our differences in the past with many things but would you consider letting me help you and perhaps even supporting you in someway with all this?

As long as you don't call me immature or anything I'm prefectly fine with being civil towards you. And I'm willing to listen. I'm always training except for winter- that's my one break (between seasons of water polo and swimming) So I like to relax and eat ALOT then because I like being lazy like any other teenager. But yeah- fast foods aren't too big on me.. And I don't really *gain* weight, it's just... ta da. And I'm mainly doing the calorie thing for my grandmother- she's kinda crazy but it pleases her.

Ah well don't do the calorie thing to please anyone other than yourself. You are doing this all for yourself and no one else. You are doing this to better your body and health and your mental health as eating a healthy balanced diet and taking regular exercise promotes good mental health ( ... )
