The new place
Well, we moved in to our new apartment in Alton on Saturday. What a long, grueling weekend that was. We got up at 4:30 this morning to go to Champaign and do some last minute things at the old apartment and turn in our keys. That's the third trip to Champaign and back this week. I'm really sick of riding/driving in cars right now! We've been pretty damn busy and there's still stuff around the apartment that needs to be put away.
So far I really like it here and love the apartment. Our apartment complex is a little bit isolated from the busy part of town so it's really quiet (which is good!). Our balcony overlooks a field. Too bad the birds haven't seemed to notice or care about the birdfeeder I put out. I know my way around town a little bit. I can get to Wal-Mart, the bank, and some fast food places. That's about it. I think we may go downtown tomorrow and see the actual town. I think so far we've really only seen the outskirts.
I just applied for a job at The Alestle (student newspaper). Its only 10 hrs a week and pays half of what I was making before, but it will be good experience and should be fun. I have savings and a school loan, but I'm worried I wont be able to get by. Or just barely scrape by. We'll see what happens I guess. If I end up dirt poor I can always find something part-time on the weekends to supplement that.
Beth is coming down for her bday (August 14th). I think we may go to the waterpark and the zoo and whatever else. Fun stuff. I'm excited for that.
I haven't met my neighbor yet (Hi Rachel!) but hopefully I can do that soon.
I think I'm getting sick though......not enough rest lately! But it's good.
