Mediappreciation

Feb 21, 2007 21:01

i wrote this today in chemistry class. I didn't spend much time on it. That explains why the thoughts are so jumbled and raw. It's basically just a collage of things that were going through my mind at the time. How my social studies teacher proclaims his views as scripture. How people buy things and are never happy (fight club stuff).

I saw a report on some channel not long ago about how a news crew faked bomb blasts and ambulance sirens in the background to show turmoil that wasn't there. To show that things weren't really bad over in an area. They create their own history. It made me think that we can never be exactly sure what to believe unless we witness things first hand.

i hope you enjoy this.
i don't.

Mediappreciation.

Well The Medias A Preacher,
Trying To Convert Me To Believe.
Now i can't distinguish fiction
From the facts thats that i recieve.

So I quit reading horoscopes
I just read the head lines.
Because i found a solid prophet
In the New York Times.

Fortune tellers in tuxedos
No longer peer in crystal ball.
They just write the future down in ink
And predict the fate of all.

Materialism buying smiles
On the faces at the other end.
Try to be happy with your coffee table
Or at least just pretend.

They start with the children,
marketing heaven on Earth.
Fathers saving for Disney,
giving over half a years worth.

Our grandfathers fought in wars.
Gave their lives for liberty.
I really wan't to support it now,
but the reason has no identity.

We've forgotten thing we've learned.
There's no truth anymore.
But i found my resources,
In a hotel drawer.

p.s. sorry its crappy, i just never took time to edit, i dont think i needed to, just a collage of thought.
