first day at the new job...
today pretty much ruled. we have workshops/training/seminars for the next 2 weeks, with some time to work in our rooms. we're only in this building for the next month, then we move to a new building. today we took a tour of the new building, and it is nothing short of amazing. my classroom, thats right, MY classroom is huge and has its own sink and bathroom in it. wow wow wow. i was overwhelmed. the nervousness hasnt really caught up with me yet though, i'll give it a couple more days. all in all, i am so excited for it all to start. tomorrow i'll have half a day in my room getting it organized, which i've been really anxious to do. we went to this somali restaurant for lunch today, where they served spaghetti with meat sauce on the same plate as this vegetarian dish. weird. oh yeah, and this girl at my table was eating goat meat and spit out a bone, and this other lady was like, oh yeah..thats a vertabrae. how gross is that??
in other news today, i realized i have to bring a lunch tomorrow, and i need to make a sandwich and i also have a splitting headache, so i'm like ok...i'll walk down to the market down the street. i get there and they have no bread and the advil is like six bucks a bottle so i decide to go to target. spent over a hundred dollars in target, but did i remember to get any advil? nope. welcome to the world of the most absent minded person ever. now it is time for me and my headache to go to bed before my head explodes. night night.
