According to an interview with the band in the new issue of Terrorizer, the new Nightwish vocalist is...
SARAH BRIGHTMAN!
Not only that, but they are to change the name of the band to Brightwish now they are taking on such a famous frontwoman and want her to feel part of the band.
Oh my Davey I am far too easily amused.
Not that I'd dislike the idea of Sarah Brightman fronting Nightwish (except the whole Brightwish thing, FTW) but, come on. Nightwish fans aren't that gullible.
My dream has always been that she'd collaborate with Apocalytica, but apparently she's retired because her voice is fucked. Woe, I love her so.
ETA: Lies, all lies! Sarah Brightman is in no way retired. In fact, she was on the reality show the Two Of Us, and was on Martha Stewart last month. Actually, I think I'm more amused by the Martha Stewart episode than I am the whole Brightwish thing.
I love that for the past five or so years, and despite that's she's forty-seven, she wears black nail plosh. She is hardcore. And she gets organic food! Love her more and more everyday.
Martha seems rather uncomfortable interviewing her. It's like she's either starstruck or bitchy about sharing the spotlike with her.

When she was asked what she was working on she said a “sort of gothic metal album” that her record company will kill her for (Martha was like “Err?” when she said gothic).
I realize this doesn’t necessarily mean she’s going to front Nightwish (no matter how much I’d like that), but perhaps the two are going to collaborate, on her album or theirs. I mean, Jukka loves her music, and I’m sure the others do to. It could be possible.
Or it could just be she likes Nightwish and was inspired to record an album by them. Either way, I’m excited for the future.
