I felt so ugly before, I didn't know what to do

Am deathly ill. I've spent both last night and today with ice on the right side of my face, trying to numb the pain of both a stye on my eye and a gigantic canker sore. I look ridiculous; the entire right side of my face is swollen and red from the ice. Every time I move just the slightest my face aches with pain. I can't eat, I can't smile, I can't talk, I can't even blink without pain. It's driving my barmy.

To pass the time I've been watching Ugly Betty episodes online. That is, until the site decided to go all wonky and to bugger off. I want to watch episode ten, damn it! I don't know what to do with myself now. And so I find myself updating, in hopes the website will miraculously revive itself while I do so.

Random thoughts on Ugly Betty:

I watched the Devil Wears Prada again last night and it's unearthly how similar the movie and Ugly Betty is. Both assistants are working for fashion editors who basically rule their lives, both don't exactly fit into their workplaces and both don't really want the jobs they're working at in the first place. They both want to work in magazines, yes, but not as assistants. And there's the book. Someone was borrowing ideas.

Daniel Meade reminds me of an older Logan Echolls from Veronica Mars. Not only do they act alike, they look alike. It's rather alarming. He's becoming more and more anti-Logan as episodes go on, however, but it could just be the number of hours I've been watching Ugly Betty have taken it's tole on me and he's becoming a new person in my mind's eye.

The "priest" on the soap opera they watch is drop dead gorgeous! I want to glomp him every time he comes on screen. Guh, that man is yum.

The episodes I watched had French subtitles so I'd taken to reading them and I realized that I know more French than I thought I did. I feel like a genius! I guess those ten years of French in school made something stick.

Christina and Marc are ridiculously hilarious. Double the hilariousness factor when they're both on screen. Triple it if they're with Wilhelmina. Davey, I love this show.
