don't ever ask your love of me.

So, I looked through a trillion (erm…six) rewriteable DVDs in search of Nirvana Unplugged (the video) earlier and I couldn’t find it.

bah hum bug!

It must have disappeared with my Placebo DVD. Someday, they shall by found in Jesse's room, in a pile of five hundred burned things.

I did find some things, though, which made me happy:
- a quadrillion music videos! yay! (including every Beatles video ever made)
- and a bunch of movies I forgotten I have (think I'll be watching Trainspotting tonight)
- the Cure and AFI's discography(!) finally have Kiss Me, Kiss Me!
- lots and lots of scrummy yummy HIM acoustic songs

Later: I have contented myself by singing Nirvana Unplugged in the shower. It was calming, and attempting to match his voice (natural range is slightly higher today for some reason - I think it’s my allergies) made me feel closer to him. Especially trying to sing the emotion in some of the songs, just the way his voice hitches slightly or breaks here and there. Nirvana Unplugged is such a beautiful portrayal of Nirvana, and Kurt in particular. It’s just so raw.

Kurt had such a gorgeous voice. Even when he was totally out of his normal range, such as in ‘Plateau,’ his voice was always so…it’s hard to explain…charismatic? Melodic? Alluring? Perfect? Even the Muzzer agrees, which is some form of a miracle.

I wish I had such talents.

That fact that I don’t, and not many people do, makes me cherish Kurt even more. And it’s not just his voice, it’s the lyrics he wrote and the music he created. The music isn’t even that complex, but it is composed so wonderfully that the simplicity of it is overlooked.

I can only hope he realized this, just once in his life.
