Hurricane
Long time ago I stopped using livejournal. It's time to be back as far as I still have a need to write something and I've got a phone application.
Today NYC faced a hurricane. They named it Sandy. The same as Irene last year.
To remind you that last years storm was mild but created lots of panics.
This year the storm was supposed to passing but it turned out to be mistake.
I live on the highest point of Manhattan. Thus, I am not afraid of flooding despite I live in two blocks of the Hudson River.
Sandy was passing my house lately only about 4 pm and seems to be nothing special but heavy wind and rain.
I started to look for the news. I was interested in what happens to the other part of the city. I was shocked: downtown part of the manhattan is under water and doesn't have power. Besides, on the 14 street the wall of the building ruined.
Also, in the flooded parts of New Jersey sharks had been observed swimming near flooded houses.
I had to have exam today but it was cancelled. My college is closed for Tuesday too.
The problem is that subway stations are flooded and it might happen that they will not operate till the end of the week.Therefore, I might not have school for one week.
Sandy appears to be no joke this year and I hope the damages for the city won't be huge. Tomorrow I am going out to see what happens on the streets.
