So..Kelly Services offered me the substitute teaching position.
I'm taking it.
I'm submitting my two weeks notice to UPS tonight.
If you know anything about me, then you know that I have been completely miserable at my job and within my third shift schedule for.. well.. since I've been on night shift. Two years or so. I've sacrificed my youth through being unable to go out at night.. beginning all weekends on Saturday afternoons or evenings [Fridays are lost].. sacrificed my body.. and allowed my spirit to be silenced.
Oddly enough, on the same day, I was hired for a tutoring position within No Child Left Behind in Hartford. One of the parents of a student in the after-school program I work for wanted to speak with me. .and shortly after, hired me. I have to work out my scheduling for that.. but, things are improving. Simply put, I will lead a normal life again. I will sleep at night. I will wake up in the morning. I will go out and dance again. I will have full weekends. I have the opportunity to be myself again.
I'm nervous about subbing, to be honest with you.. but, this is a necessary change. UPS is disgustingly comfortable. but, I need some discomfort.
Oh. .and Tofutti Pan Pizza is awesome.
..as is getting a bullshit ticket for a supposedly 'improper muffler' nolled.
