Since Y'all Been Gone
This has been one hell of a week. My mom has been off in Virginia for work so I've been taking care of my little brother and sisters. Katie's wake and funeral all fell in this week too.
I had to go to the wake both days. I ended up going three times. It was impossible just trying to accept the loss, and I still am in disbelief. The worst part for me was seeing Katie's dad. I had never met him before all of this happen, and seeing this big, strong man break down in tears ripped a piece of my heart out.
My only hope is that this whole incident can draw us all closer as friends. I love all of my friends, and I really want to reconnect with any of them who I haven't talked with in a while, much like Katie. So please, anybody reading this who I haven't been close with lately, I'm sure I miss you. Let me know what's going on and all that good stuff.
PS: I wrote in the entry about Katie that she took a Life Lessons course over at Mercy. I've heard conflicting things about its truthfulness. It was just a small anecdote to add some insight into Katie's character, and even if it wasn't true, I still think she wanted a happy funeral. And as sad as it was, I know I walked out of there with at least a small smile on my face. It was an amazing service, as anyone who was there would agree.
