Ouch
Oh man, today was not a good day.
Last night I was fighting off a bit of a sore throat that only seemed to get worse, I didn't sleep through the night at all - despite the aid of Nyquil and a bottle of Advil. This morning was hell. Finally I decided to go to urgent care - seeing as I can't sleep, eat or drink. And talking is excruciating - leaving me only able to breathe comfortably.
Turns out, I have something like strep throat but tested negative for it. I also tested negative for mono. But my tonsils are swollen - only an inch apart from the other, and very inflammed. My lymphnodes/glands are swollen from the corner of my jaw down about two inches. I can't look down or turn my head without moving my whole body. I can hardly even swallow. I think this is quite likely the worst pain I've found myself in. Without a doubt. They were concerned with my hydration and wanted me hooked up to an IV due to not drinking/eating. I have (this is gross, mind you) white spots all over my tonsils.
This is terrible.
I never cry. I think crying is for weaker sauce. I was crying in my physicians office because I was so frustrated/pissed/hurting.. Thankfully the physician was amazing, issued me vicoden and penicillin. I only spent $40. I listened to "Horse Pills" by the Dandy Warhols the entire way there and to the pharmacy. :) That paired with my big, versace, paris-hilton-style shield sunglasses made my day.
I can eat finally.
