An empty space
A desolate place
She occupies inside her lover's heart.
Around in a whirl
Her misery unfurls
Braving the winds alone.
The words poorly chosen
Those promises empty and broken
She hides her pain behind the smile he expects.
The endless hours she waits
For the scraps he leaves on his plate
Something is better than nothing...(or is it really) ??
The perfect woman almost everyone wants
He smiles as he carelessly flaunts
Never knowing he lost his 'claim' long ago.
His life off in a new direction
He hasn't anymore time to waste on love and affection
She must always give when it is expected.
The distractions that fill the void
His lies & excuses that leave her hurt & annoyed
Pile up like teetering skyscrapers.
The skyscrapers reach heavenly heights
It's time to turn out the lights
On something that was never meant to be..........
