Over the past I-can't-remember-how-many years, my sister & I have usually gotten my father music for birthdays, father's day & Christmas. It made sense since he loves music, but won't buy it for himself. But I have noticed he never listens to it anymore. So I asked Mom why that is. And she asked Dad. And Dad tells me it's because every time he tries to listen to his music no one will shut up and if he turns the music up, everyone gets louder. See, the problem with my father is that his idea of listening to music involves turning on the music and all other activity ceasing, including conversation, so that he can listen to his music uninterrupted. WTF? I love music. Majorly love music. But life doesn't have to cease around me to enjoy the music. Music to me is more like a constant background soundtrack to everything in my life. I keep music playing while I read, when I'm on the compy, when I sleep... whenever possible. About the only thing I do without music playing in the background is watch TV or movies. I can't understand his logic. Yes, there are times when I like to sit & just listen to music, but that's when I'm alone.. kind of like meditating. Oh well. If he's not gonna listen to the music & has to stop everyone around from having a good time because of it, I guess he won't be getting much music from us anymore. So what the hell do I get him now...?

I have to say I love this idea. We're all making ourselves so crazy & stressed out over what to buy each other. Why? Because we're supposed to? Why not just effing skip it altogether?! Nobody seems to enjoy the spirit of the holiday anymore, and it's almost entirely because of the stress & pressure of finding the perfect gift for, like, every damn person you know! (Yes, some of us hate the holidays because we hate our relatives, but I can't fix that one for you people - sorry.) I really love the ideas on this list. Maybe if more people would consider this kind of holiday, we could all love Christmas again!~

If anyone reading this has a clue WTF "11one1" is, will you please explain it to me! I've seen this in a few different places, usually on blogs or comments. I so don't compute this. Also, what is with the "wentz!icon" or "bob!icon" or any other variarion thereof?? Someone please explain these to me. I hate feeling like I'm totally missing something in the translation. Thanks!
