this has been a pretty good weekend, leading into today.. at least i think so. fb had a special employee treat shopping day where i got 40% off on regular priced & 20% off clearance (which used to be my regular discount, btw, untill they dropped it to 30/10 D:) anywayyyy tho, hermie wasn't feeling very good after getting home from work (ok she was pretty much fall into bed and die) so she layed (laid?? idk) down for a nap while nevi and i went shopping (bc we usually enjoy it more anywayz) first stop was catherine's for her (which is cool that i get my discount at not only fb but also catherine's & lane bryant, since they're all owned by charming shoppes. woot.) and she found some really great stuff. very much her kind of stuff - really dressy with lots of sparkles~! and how awesome that she was rolling in the 1X!! she was up to 4 & 5 X last year! isn't that awesome! that's totally awesome. \o/ and, OBV, she was looking killer in pretty much everything she tried on. and no i mean srsly. she looked great. dropped a big chunk on layaway there (yeah, some stores still have that! lol) and headed on to fb for me. i tried on like a ton of things. since i work there i've basically been stockpiliing things in my head that i wanted to try on when we had shopping funds. half of it ended up looking very bad, but some of it was really, really cute on me and i was sooo happy with the stuff i ended up putting on layaway there. a couple things made me feel like a total fucking supermodel, which is never a bad feeling. :D
since we had so much fun and were feeling so good after shopping we dragged hermie away from the stove and out to shop before everything was closed. she got some really great stuff and actually tried on way more than she usually does.. but then i'm pretty much convinced it was a magyk shopping day all around (which is why we ran home to get her!) i think when all our awesome new stuff comes home we will prolly be dumping even more out of our closets than we already have, which is considerable. but when you've lost half your body you kinda need a whole new wardrobe, y'know? so we're slowly cycling the old, big stuff out and new, fitting stuff in. it's just a matter of having the money, so it's a bit of a slow process sometimes.
OH! totally saw daughty, theory of a deadman & cavo in concert on thursday, which was fucking stellar! it's so awesome to have seen cavo back in may with blue october & chevelle & they were just this little opening band that played an awesome acoustic set even tho the only ppl watching were us & like 3 other ppl. they played forever and then hung around talking to us. they were really great and we started following what they were up to. it was so great to hear their single 'champagne' being played like crazy on the rock stations. and gettiing to see them again after they blew up this summer was so, so cool. they did my fave off the album 'let it go' which made me very, very happy. :D we didn't get to chat them up this time bc we didn't have a chance to say 'hi' till after the concert was all over (they're table was friggin' mobbed!) and by then security was trying to run everybody off & close up. but i did get to have them sign our copy of their album and
get a pic with them (since the one i took with casey in may i accidentally deleted like a 'tard DX). and i got to tell them that we'd been following them since we saw them in may, which was what i really wanted to say and casey looked so happy and surprised to hear me say that. i love them.
theory of a deadman was outstanding. i'm never sure about seeing new bands in concert bc i always worry that they won't be as good live but these guys were killing it. and the lead singer's personality made me love the band even more.
daughtry was just fucking stellar. they played srsly FOREVER! and i really can't believe.. i mean his voice on the album is really big and i was blown away that he actually sounds like that live. it's crazy. i don't know how he can belt those songs out like that every night! i only wish they would have done 'what about now' bc that's my fave ever, but really there's no bad song from them. plus they did a really beautifull cover of 'in the air tonight' by phil collins... which kinda reminded me a lil of ryan star's version from rockstar. i loved it. over all, a srsly outstanding show! (except maybe for the drunk asshole behind us that poured his beer all over my coat & nevi's arm.. but i personally wasn't gonna let a bit of bear-soaked jacket ruin such a stellar concert)
and and we're shopping today and randomly big lots (yes, big lots) has this clearance section of broyhill stuff they had in and there is this fucking gorgeous shelving unit with no price. nevi made this face when she saw it like a choir of angels was singing so i'm chasing doods down trying to fiind somebody that knows the price of this thing. took prolly 20 min or better to get it but they actually came back with $200!!! now this fucking thing is just beyond gorgeous. it's rich cherry wood with columns on the front and this beautifull moulding. it almost looks like a temple.. or slightly egyption. its just gorgeous, okay?! so we're all FUCKYEAH $200!! we sorted out how to pay for it and they had a guy that delivers things for them so we did a happy dance like woah and went off to the grocery store. the guy finally came and dropped it off and this piece just looks amazing in our living room let me fucking tell you! nevi is going to use it for her altar, which is like so cool okay. the strange thing of it is that it's actually the top to a hutch. like there was a bottom piece that they bought and didn't buy the top. wtf?! i can't imagine not wanting the whole piece... that's just stupid. now the delivery guy sez he delivers for like 4 dif't big lots so if he happens to see a bottom somewhere he'll call us. that would be awesome. i just can't believe we got this piece for $200. before the clearance it had to be like $1000 at least. wow...
forgot to mention (bc i'm a idiot) that we've been doing a lot of rearranging the last couple days wanting to really make the house nice and homey and cozy bc IT'S OUR FUCKING HOUSE NOW~! THAT'S RIGHT! FUCKYEAH IT'S OUR HOUSE!!! *happydance* we signed the paperwork thursday before leaving for the concert to officially buy our awesome lil manufactured house. i can't believe that at 30 i'm buying a house. i honestly didnt' think i was ever going to be in the position to do that... just.. wow..
unfortunately our blue october show on the 14th got cancelled bc justin had to sign himself into the hospital again. i feel so bad for him bc this tour was basically all being donated to a fund for ppl with mental issues and now he's had to cancel the whole thing bc of his own issues. D:
still looking wayyy forward to our last dave show on the 20th tho!! can't wait to meet my twitter girls cheryl & lesa and hang out with julie again! it's gonna be fun. hopefully work will lemme have the next morning off so we can really hang out.. but i'm not holding my breath bc that is a ND weekend. efffffff. but i'm still gonna try. *prays*
