it's here.

Okay, so it's officially summer. My last day of school was basically the epitome of my summer plans. Right after school we headed off to the frisbee golf course and played until 4 and then I went to work for about 3 hours and then spent the night at Julie's house. Does it really get any better? I came home for about 10 minutes to change into my work clothes and grab some gas money and the only thing I ate all day was a pop tart, cantaloupe, and whole grain cheerios.

Tomorrow I'm going to my cousins house to spend some quality time with the family and then tennis starts on Monday. Summer gym starts on Thursday. Work is the easiest thing I've ever done. Pretty much no brain power involved and my legs are getting a sweet tan.

I'm trying not to think about college too much, but it's basically inevitable. The last couple of weeks in July, Julie and Chris are both going to be away, so I might talk my parents into some college visits.

My friends mean the world to me, and I think that's the biggest thing holding me back from wanting to go to college. My closest friends (with the exception of Kelsie) are younger than me, and it kills me that I have to leave them behind for an entire year. It also kills me when I have to sit back and let them make decisions that really aren't the best for them. But all I can do is offer them my best advice and let them learn from their mistakes.

I have so many books to read this summer it's unbelievable, but I think I'm up for the challenge. They're good books too and I'm actually excited to start devouring them. Next year's schedule sounds harsh, but I don't think it will be too bad. I'm scared of graduating so maybe I'll fail on purpose haha.

With all of this boyfriend/girlfriend drama going on around me lately, I've come to realize that I'm perfectly happy with being single. I mean, it's never bothered me before, but now I've kind of come to embrace it. I love being independent and doing what I want, when I want, because I want to do it. I don't have to think to myself "Oh, can I hang out with these friends or will my boyfriend get jealous?" The whole idea may sound a little selfish, but I think it's mostly me establishing my individuality. I mean, I can honestly say that I'm not jealous of any couples, even the ones with perfect relationships. I know I'll find someone right for me some day, but why should I put myself through the drama of a thousand wrong guys beforehand? Maybe I'll be 40 or 50 when I finally find bliss, but I can deal with that. I'm willing to wait in order to spend my life with someone who shares my sense of adventure and independence, someone who respects my love of classical literature and indie music and who will scale a mountain in Europe with me one day and then go home and play Scrabble or do a crossword with me the next day. Someone who has very strong opinions on things but doesnt try to force those opinions on others. Someone who loves not only the good things about themselves, but also their flaws and who loves my flaws as well. Someone who wants to contribute and change the world for the better.

Ok, sorry you had to read that haha it was just something I've been thinking about. Eh, I really want to play tennis but no one will play with me. I think today's a good day to read outside, so I'll probably go do that.

All in all, life's good and I'm just chillin' with the best.
