 I was re-reading some ancient journal entries (can you believe I actually forgot about the badger?!) and came across a Shakespeare quote that really speaks to me.

"Let those who are in favor with their stars
Whose honor and proud titles boast;
Whilst I, from whom such triumph bars
Unlook'd for joy in that I honor most."

I came across that years ago in high school, for a poetry assignment. It's a lesson that emphasizes, to me, the timelessness of Shakespeare. And it's important to remember that while you may find yourself jealous of your neighbors, celebrities, ex-lovers who have moved on, divorcees, even those who are close to you, your friends and family - you may want their life, their money, their fame, their friends, their fans, their job.... whatever, it doesn't matter. The lesson is that true happiness, unlook'd for joy, can be found only when you let go of that envy and remember that which you honour the most.

In the Bard's own words, let those who are in favor with their stars.

I already know what - and who - I honour most.

(Yes, I apologize for my weird spelling. I'm Canadian and therefore attached to the letter U.)

unlook'd for joy, stars, poetry, envy, the bard
