Writing again
I'm working on "The Muse" as we speak. I'm just having a little trouble deciding whether or not to include the beginning scene, which features the fabulous Severus and Hermione getting it on in a basically abandoned corridor. It just seems out of character for this story, considering what has been written regarding their fears of getting caught in an earlier chapter. What sucks is that the scene represents 2/3 of what I have for the chapter so far, but as Stephen King says, "Kill your darlings, kill your darlings. Even when it breaks your narcissistic little scribbler's heart, kill your darlings."
He's right. Still, it sucks.
I might post it here, just to get some perspective. I don't know. I'm just happy to be writing again. I already have another fic idea and even a title -- "Bread and Circuses." It's better than it sounds... I hope. Anyone who knows anything about ancient Rome might be able to guess at least a part of what the story's about.
