Your cellophane dreams are black,
Filled with see-through intentions
And broken speakers.
Unheard go your screams for help
When all we see is you-
A smiling picture.
Your fairytale has become dark-
Honest to bone behind foggy mirrors.
Any attempt to reveal what is there
Is blinded by a near-sighted hope.
And still smoke slips in through the fingers
Ready to strangle-
Ready to stain.
And the blackness is winning your story
But your happy face is still the same.
Always smiling.
Your thoughts remain in a taped off shoebox,
In the Lost & Found nobody checks
And still there are questions that needed a turn
But the echoing wall has kept them away.
Empty out your every cell
Empty out your every pocket
Reveal to me the cause of this written tragedy.
But when you do,
Undress your words-
Disguising every lie
Because it hurts to hate you while you smile.
