Today on my break at work, I walked next door to Marshall's and filled out an application, and had two interviews.
I've decided that Circuit City is not where I should be employed. For the most part, the management doesn't treat the other employees correctly. My manager is fantastic and I totally love him, but as for his boss, he's not so nice. Kat and I were TWO MINUTES late for work yesterday because there was a lot of traffic at noon. So, I clocked in and he was standing right there. He asks me why I'm late and I tell him that there was traffic. And he responds with "There's traffic every day. That's not an excuse." Then I proceed to tell him that I can't leave any earlier than my ride. He tells me that that isn't an excuse either. And you know, not to mention my supervisor who is a flaming bitch 85% of the time. I swear to god, she treats me like I've been working there for a grand total of two hours. I know my shit, lady. Calm down and let me do my job to the best of my ability. And now other people in the store are coming to me when they have problems now, instead of her. THAT is because she's not a very pleasant person. She gets really pissed when that happens, and sticks me at the check-out for two hours.
Kat told me something today that confirmed my decision of ditching my job there ASAP. I guess one of my favorite employees has to have his tonsils taken out. The doctor advised him to stay out of work for a week after they did the procedure. So naturally, he had to inform the store director (AKA - the guy who said I wasn't giving him a good excuse) and he said that there was no way he was going to let him take a week off for that. So, Mike told him that his health and school come before his work. Our store director promptly told him after that they needed to sit down and talk about that. -_-
Excuse me, but I would like a job where the management actually CARES about their employees, and doesn't just say they do.
I applied at Best Buy and Macy's online last night. I'm really hoping to score a job at Macy's, since I applied to be a beauty technician. Woo cosmetics! :P
