Oscars...
So, if you know me, you know the Academy Awards are a big deal to me. I woke up this morning and at 7:39, Oscar nominations were announced. I've only seen one or two of the nominated films. One of those is the second most nominated film, Slumdog Millionaire, the underdog film of the year. I hold a special place in my heart for this film because Danny Boyle has been a long-time favourite director of mine. I've been crying because he's finally getting his long, overdue credit. Because I haven't seen most of the films nominated, I am taking the next three days to see nearly all of them. Thank God for Saffy's famous double matinee. The only upsetting thing is that the nearest cinema that I know of that is playing Gus Van Sant's MILK is Miracle 5 in Tallahassee. Don't think I'll be going quite that far! I should begin getting ready for the day!
