I've been incredibly busy with the Council ever since my return from Rome. I missed several important meetings, apparently, and had to be caught up. The restructuring of the Council is still a cause of heated debate amongst the elder Members. For instance, the question of whether each Slayer still has one Watcher has been debated endlessly. It is my opinion that this is now impossible. There are far too many of them and far too few of us. Another issue is that some Members still desire to test the Slayer's on their 18th birthday. I reminded them what happened the last time and have promised that I will not allow it to go on as it used to. While I am most certainly not the most respected Councilman here, nor am I the oldest, I am the only one who has worked with any Slayer at this point. My opinion does carry a bit of weight. Particularly as my Slayer is still alive, which is more than most Watcher's can say.
I recently received a terribly distressing call from Bridget. She's been in Ireland for about two weeks now, and she called and reported that there have been some mysterious deaths around her county. She is justifiably horrified, as her small area has never had such problems before. She said she'd caught sight of a "really tall leprachaun" a few times, and is convinced he is responsible for the deaths.
I've been researching since then, and have put Andrew on it as well. He's gotten his friend Ben to help out a bit as well. We are all fairly certain that leprachauns do not actually exist, so we're trying to look into "green demons" in general. Sadly, Bridget had absolutely no other details, and "green" isn't really a distinguishing mark amongst demonkind. We have volumes on top of volumes which have detailed accounts of at least 500 known "green demons."
I've decided it will be essential for me to travel to Ireland to try to catch a glimpse of this "really tall leprachaun." Andrew can easily hold down the research end of things here; he's become very competent so long as he's not distracted by...anything....
I will be leaving within the next few days, and gone for an undetermined amount of time. Hopefully this won't take me very long, but you can never tell.
