Buffy called me last night, sobbing. She was in hysterics, quite literally. I, of course, immediately became quite concerned, believing that the only thing which could bring her to that level of hysterics was if something horrible had happened to
Dawn. I wish I had been incorrect.
Once she was finally able to speak, she told me that her
father kidnapped Dawn yesterday, and is holding her hostage in a seedy motel somewhere. Buffy has been unable to find the place so far, and was begging me to tell her what to do. Dear God, how I wish I knew exactly what to say.
Mr. Summers...should you harm ONE hair on Dawn's head I assure you that Buffy will be the least of your troubles. I can make your life miserable in more ways that you can possibly imagine. And I'll do it gladly..with a song in my heart. Buffy, you see, isn't like me. She's far better than I, in many ways. I would have no qualms taking actions against you. And mine would be...shall we say...prolonged. Not fast and easy.
For now, I'm working under the hope that the man has been infected by some evil. While he was certainly an inadequate buffoon of a father for years, he was never malicious. So far, the best way I've found to rid someone of an evil they are infected with is to bless a ceremonial dagger with good magicks and stab the infected. Obviously this wouldn't be a mortal wound, but I imagine it would also aid Buffy in gaining some satisfaction.
The Council, as it happens, has several ceremonial daggers which can be of use. I'm flying to Rome immediately to deliver the dagger myself--and I'm more than prepared with other instruments if this does not work.
No ONE messes with my girls. Not even their "father."
