i found my 2nd grade writing portfolio today and i found this pulitzer prize winning literature in it (i'm posting it just as i wrote it way back when, spelling and all):
my trip to wisconsen
On Tuesday Aug. 15 my family and I got up at 5:00 AM to go to Wisconsen. We had to wack up erly because, my dad had to play a baseball game in Wisconsen. My family and I had My family and I had to tavel in the car for 10 houres. When we got there it was 4:45. My dad just fell right asleep, right when we go there. He was so tierd because, he drove 10 hours none stop. Wy my dad was taking a nape, the rest of my family and I went swiming for one houre. When we came back fome swiming we had to chang into are close and get ready for the baseball game at 7:30. Then we had to go to the car, the feild was only 15 minutes away. When we got there my mom my sisters and I went out to look at the lake the lake was right behind the baseball feild, we went out on the dock and there was a chair right next to the egge of the dock. On the way back we raced all the way and my oldest sister Rebecca won. When we got there the game already started. The other team went up frist. At the end it was about 9:00 PM. My dad's team won 11 to 2. When we got to the hotel we got on are pjamase and went to bed. When my family and I woke up we got dressed and went to Perkines. After that my dad had get ready for another baseball game. When we got there the feild was all wet because, it rained the night before. In the mittel of the game my sister pushed me down the blechers. At the end of the game my dads team won 16 to 1. At the end we got a hotdog at the consteshon stand. On our way back to the Hotel we brong with us Ryan and Mr. Hagan. They did not bring a car someone on the team drove them. The next day we had to get ready for another game at 11:00. When it was time to levae for the game. When we got there, thair was raguler cares with arm rests on the raguler blechers. At the end of the game the other team was winning and the won. Mr. Hagan lost he bat case thing. He found it thought. When we got back we took Ryan and the hole family to perkons. But when we got back all the people on dad baseball team were having a pizza party. The next morning we had to leave to go back home. when we got home we went to bed.
i think i may have sent this as my college essay to duke... maybe thats why i didnt get in...
