The Astor Double feature
Seeing Laputa and Porco Rosso on the big screen was really incredible. The print quality weren't great, but that just added to the flavour in my opinion. The turnout was ok, but I really didn't notice, as I was sitting at the front and having fun resting my legs on the wall :)
Porco has always had a special place in my heart as it was one of my first entries into Anime, and I fell in love with it when I saw it on SBS.
Seeing it on the big screen with the music was just...touching. Laputa is a good movie as well, I'm not knocking it, but Porco is just the best. :)

And then I find out that on wednesday there'll be a double feature of Scott Pilgrim and Kickass for 9 bucks! Man...my week is filled...wednesday is Astor, Thursday is Avenue Q (http://knox-leader.whereilive.com.au/events/story/slams-presents-avenue-q/), Friday is a farewell party for a friend who's moving to the US :(; and Saturday is a 8.30pm gig from the japanese cowboy who busks on bourke st and a funky kata player for japan (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=185719351471162) and maybe japanese festival at Fed Square including a Summer Wars screening (http://www.fedsquare.com/index.cfm?pageID=19&viewDate=2011-3-1&eventID=2289).
