My schedule is finally beginning to take shape for next year.

I received my letter of acceptance to be an RLA next year, so that means I need to be on-campus by September 7th. As it turns out, since I'm working here on campus over the summer and need to work 10 weeks, I'll be in Portland from June 10th (late at night Friday) until June 18th (early Saturday morning). Effectively, that gives me from Sunday until Thursday to actually do anything, and Monday and Tuesday are booked full already. Basically, if there's anything that anyone would care to do, there's two open days. Beyond that, I won't be coming back to Portland again until December.

On a totally unrelated note, AIM is no longer on my computer, and it seems probable that LJ will stop being used as well. There's simply no real appeal for this any more, considering that I've drifted so far out of contact with everyone on my friends list.

It's amazing how easy it is to lose touch with everything that used to be so close, and at the same time how surprisingly easy it can be to reconcile with the fact that it really doesn't matter. What really matters anyways? My entire life I've been jumping around different schools, never really staying in touch with anyone, and this year has been absolutely no different. Aside from posting comments in various LJ accounts and occasionally leaving messages for people, I haven't actually had a conversation with anyone from OES (letalone anyone from previous schools) since October-ish. It's funny that I spent so much time trying to get to know people, having incredible experiences, and yet as soon as school started none of that even mattered any more. What's more, I realize that now that I'm 2,000 miles from what I knew as my home, I don't really consider Oregon to be home. Portland is simply a place to visit now... my home is here. What will it be like when I visit Portland for the last time? I have a strong feeling that I'll find out too soon. As in, before-2006-soon.

At the very least, I don't think I'll be visiting LJ much any more.
