My Dad, my valentine
My philosophy for many years has been to treat today as celebrating Love of all kinds. Today I'm especially celebrating my Dad, who turned 92 today! I love him so much, and he's slowly fading away, as elderly Dads do....
Today after lunch at work, we suddenly heard trombones! There was a group of about a dozen students in suits and ties (including our office's student intern), standing in the middle of the (campus) street, playing sweet jazz on trombones and one tuba! It was so wonderful, I wish I could have wrapped it up and sent it to Dad who has loved jazz for many years. Instead I made him an extra special card.
Like an idiot I didn't think of taking an iPhone video, and I don't know how, anyway. Still some Luddite in me, I guess. But the impromptu concern was quite, quite wonderful and brought much joy.
(Especially because I'm not having the world's best week at work. Sigh.)
