I'd forgotten what having a young kitten is like.
Half the time, bouncing-off-the-walls energy -- the other half, little kitty snores and adorable paw-over-nose cuteness.
The other evening I was reading, with the kitten stretched out on the back of my reading chair, and looked up after awhile to notice that a completely zonked-out and limp kitten was v - e - r - y slowly doing a nosedive off the chair onto my shoulder ;) Makes you go "Awwwwwwwww......."
Currently my landlord in the other half of the duplex, who is at least as noise-sensitive as I am, has been complaining that the kitten is waking him up in the morning by bouncing and scrabbling around in the bathtub (his bed is just on the other side of that wall). I've tried shutting her out of the bathroom while I brush my teeth in the morning, since generally if I'm not in there she isn't playing in there either, but I can't shut her out very long because that's where both her food dish and the catbox are. The next thing I'm trying is to tape the edges of the shower curtain to the outside of the bathtub and the tile walls. Hopefully that will mean she can't get in, and since I know she'll outgrow this eventually, I can put up with having to untape and retape the curtain when I need to take a shower for awhile.
My favorite of her recent stunts was the morning she climbed all the way up the window screen in my bedroom, transferred to the bookcase, climbed to the top of the bookcase and then set out to walk across the top of the windows on the curtain rod. It's a bit narrow, and about two-thirds of the way across her foot slipped, leaving her dangling by two paws and frantically trying to get back up. She eventually gave up and let go, since the bed is right underneath providing a nice safe landing, but it was pretty funny to watch.
