Ok, since the last post was kind of depressing, maybe, I thought I'd cover it up with something a bit more trivial.
Here is stuff I've blown money on recently!
Please take this as an invitation to recommend like Amazon.
First up is Target's chai latte. I had been trying to quit coffee because I heard Dr. Oz say that it speeds up your metabolism or something, and whether or not this is true or not exactly what it means, my mind took it as, "It makes you hungry!" I think my brews were doing this anyway because I was using artificial sweetener, and that's another reason I wanted to quit. However, wanting to be up at dawn and having to pick my brother up from work is not possible.
Honestly, I tried these because Chris Hardwick raves about how good Starbucks's is, but I do not think I am a chai person. I liked the coffee more than Starbucks's because they tend to be too sweet for me; the bottles are adorable, recyclable, and the mouths are big enough to put in ice cubes; they are alright-ly priced (this was a while ago, so I don't remember exact price, like $4-$5 for 4 bottles), but I guess I just like my coffee to taste like coffee.
This is more a note to myself than anything: Don't make this foundation ever again! It is greasy and will make you look shiny and doesn't really do anything but make a mess!
Next, I got a Cetaphil cleanser accidentally because I wanted to try their moisturizer. I usually use a St. Ives scrub to wash my face, but this is doing a pretty similar job, so if it's the same price I might stick to it. It's kind of like a gel which I don't really like, but now I'm more or less used to it.
Now that I write this post, I don't understand why moisturizers are so expensive! I usually buy Aveeno's Clear Complexion which is like $14. I meant to try Cetaphil's; theirs is about $10. I've been terrible at tracking my finances lately and didn't want to spend a lot, so I got a $3 e.l.f. tinted moisturizer. I hadn't used a tinted moisturizer before and honestly thought it'd be like those sunless tanning lotions. This is more like a concealer as demonstrated by its cute little packaging, emphasis on the little.
Aveeno's ingredients are salicylic acid with "total soy complex," whatever that means. The e.l.f. moisturizer says it has aloe, cucumber, and vitamins A, C, and E, and it's SPF 20. I wish I was interested enough in what I put on the face to know more about ingredients, but the one time I did look up makeup vids on YouTube, the person was very keen on spfs, so hooray. Again, it's just as well as what I'd been using, but then again, it is (supposed to be) moisturizing and concealing, so maybe it's better.
I say it's just as well because sometimes my forehead and eyebrow area gets really dry and nothing seems to work. WHAT DO YOU GUYS USE???
Ok, I'm sorry you had to go through that. I don't plan to come into any money soon so this will never happen again, ok bye.
