So I've been tagged. TWICE! The demand is too high to warrant me procrastinating any further.
List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.
7 songs(in heaven)
1. Devendra Banhart - At the Hop(live) - 'put me in your dry dreams, put me in your wet, if you haven't yet.' Overall though, this song is genuinely sweet and sad.
2. Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the Devil - Hearing this song at the gym inspired me to love this song again. I can remember being in a bar at the age of 12 with my father after his softball(drinking) games and hearing this and other classics. I would order a boiled hot dog and I was brutally made fun of for this by men in their early 30's, late 40's.
3. Elliott Smith's cover of Blue Oyster Cult's - Don't Fear the Reaper - It's not better than the original, but it's damned close.
4. Stevie Nicks - Landslide - Reminds me of my mother.
5. Lil' Wayne - Fireman - The sheer ridiculousness of this song is enough for me to listen to it. "I see she wearing them jeans that show her butt crack/My girls can't wear that why that's where my cash at/I put my mack down that's where you lack at/She need her candle lit and Imma wax that."
6. Built to Spill - The Plan - There's something about this band that just gets to me. I really like this song. I have nothing else innane to say.
7. **Elliott Smith - Punch and Judy** - Okay so the character Punch was created in the mid-to-late 1600's in England. Often described as the "manic marionette," Punch stars with wife, Judy and several other characters. The puppets often fight, concluding with Punch usually living up to his namesake. Thought to be the originator of slapstick comedy, The Punch and Judy marionette show is still around today. You guys know what i'm talking about. The two little puppets behind the big board, complete with curtain. Anyway, the song relates to that in the sense that he is talking about being in a relationship that is harmful to the ones who are in it. It's also speculated that Elliott could have been talking about a relationship with something inanimate that is destructive, namely drugs.

On a similar note, this website is cool. It may or may not take you on a musical journey, and keep in mind the database is limited(how could it not be?). That said, it's the only like it of it's kind, that I know of. Thank you Manuel.
