"Don't go getting all Straight Edge on me..."
That's an improved line from the movie I'm currently working on, STILL WATERS. "What, working?," you say, "I thought you were taking some time off???!!!" Yeah, I know. I know. Best of all, I'm currently in a log cabin about an hour south of St. Louis, MO.
It's a long story, but I got a phone call about a week ago from my friends out here asking me if I would come out and play for the last two weeks. People were getting sick left and right and they could use a extra warm body at the least, and a all-around AD type at best, so they gave me a ring. I hope I've helped smooth the show out a little bit. On Thursday, I got to first the show for a bit while Ramos recouped for a few hours, and that really made me feel like it was worth it to come out and help.
These last two weeks we're shooting at a bed and breakfast out in the woods. It's cold out here and I'm glad I've got the thermals... it's like 35 degrees at night we're shooting all nights....grrr... this is why people shoot movies in LA...
I'm headed home to H-town on the 19th... I'm really excited to finally get back home. There are so many people that I miss so so so much, particularly my family... I'm really quite lucky, you know... but yeah, hoping to spend as much time as possible with the Browns, Amanda, Ashley and whoever else is still in the tri-state area. The only downside is all the gang that won't be around, this year including Clinton Jones, who I missed when he was in LA. So much of Hagerstown IS Scott Ancarrow and Ben Horsch and the gang... Krumpies and Kerches just doesn't taste the same without the boys around to enjoy it.
On a side note, I really didn't realize how addicted to the new TV season I had become since I wasn't working... at out lakeside condo's we have no hardline phone, barely any cell reception, questionable TV single, and wireless only at the little general story, where I am currently sitting. This is the first time I've missed Studio 60, Heroes, Lost, or V. Mars this season and I'm suffering a bit of withdraw... it makes me sad. I shouldn't be this addicted to TV... I'm trying to download HEROES right now and it's taking forever...er, and the internet single is WAY to slow for streaming...bah. I'm so ashamed. I'm going to go listen to Black Flag's "TV Party" and punch myself in the face.
We've gone out a few times and it was a harsh reminded of how different the red and blue line is drawn in the country. We got plenty of "we're are y'all from exactly?"'s and "You aint around here, is ya's"...scary. I got plenty of dirty looks for playing the Sex Pistols, the Misfits, and Digital Underground (there was no Minor Threat *tear*) on the jukebox at the local bar and grill... good times.
On that note, I'm going to head down to the Creek Side Cafe for some grub.... we rented out the little theater at the resort for a screening of TV: THE MOVIE (the flick I did last year with the Jackass fellas), so that should be a good time and hopefully help me not think about how much I miss my girlfriend and how bummed out I am that I missed the Page France show at Spaceland...
