UPS You Make No Sense

So the UPS person is here -- or at least their truck is -- and I don't see anyone going into or out of the truck (yes, I was watching that fucker like a vulture from my 2nd-story perch) but all of sudden I get an email delivery confirmation that the package is delivered but...no signature required? It's in the mail room

Sounds to me the delivery guy took a short cut and sent in the confirmation before it's delivered.

Troublesome, to say the least. What if you weren't home?

Very confusing. But, I enjoyed the mental vulture image; I thought that was well phrased.

Considering that I will have a large parcel(or two) coming by UPS soon, I am not enjoying these stories about UPS being a bucket of fools.
