I've received the go-ahead from the mods to post this little "event". It's totally optional, as you'll see, but I thought it might be fun and promote some more interaction for my boy. And torture him, but that's just some fun on the side.
As some of you may know, I'm in the middle of plotting serious angst for Lili, and had an idea. I mentioned that his parents were disowning him. I also wanted to have his ability ramp up a little. So I thought that maybe point A could lead to point B.
I pictured Lili in class in a day or two, where he'll feel something strange, as though he's trying to cough but not quite. What comes out sounds almost musical, which kind of freaks him out and makes him skip class the rest of the day as he struggles to keep this song from coming out. It's literally trying to bubble up out of him against his will. (It's stemming from the stress of not being able to contact his parents, which is bothering him more and more.) He'll end up missing a few days of class, and people who normally speak to him will notice he's refusing to so much as open his mouth around others. He'll even be eating at night to keep anyone from hearing this song in case it comes out then. Anyone who's in his class can comment on what they heard. His voice takes on a very noticeable
preverb quality when he uses Mesmerismus to sing or speak.
Then on the 23rd he'll get the email from his parents where they disown him, and the misery sends him out into the snow where the song begins to come out louder and louder until the entire school can hear it. It won't be a compulsion song as he feared, but a sort of reverse-empathy. Instead of him feeling other people's emotions, his song calls to certain emotions he wants to elicit in them and makes the people feel them. It's still dependent on them understanding him, but those that are at least semi-fluent in English will be able to. So now Mesmerismus has two facets: singing creates a compulsion to feel, while speaking creates a compulsion to do.
The emotions he'll be calling on for his first time are despair and loneliness. Of course, anyone who is horrible at English, is away, or can block out his voice (with loud music or soundproof walls, for example) won't be affected. So people can choose whether they even heard him or not. Those who did and know English can choose how their character reacted. (Open weeping is encouraged.) I'm sort-of angling for Sakaki to decide Lili needs a tutor/shoulder to cry on (but not a dick to sit on); but I'd love it if another character who normally doesn't speak to him decides to interact with him because of this. Thoughts/questions encouraged!
EDIT: I'm also open to changing the date if someone really wants to participate but has their character leaving school before the 23rd. I just want to give the muns time to see this and plot.
