Characters: Sanada and Yukimura
Time: September 21
Location: Sanada’s room
Rating: PG
Summary: Sanada and Yukimura chat and tease each other some.

Sanada looked up from the cups of tea he was pouring at the sound of a knock on the door. “It’s open, come on in.”

Yukimura pushed the door open and stepped inside the room Sanada shared with that teleporting boy. He didn't seem to be there, and Yuki breathed a small sigh of relief; the redhead was quite energy draining at times. "It smells lovely," he said, taking a seat - seiza position - on the floor.

Sanada smiled gently at the other teen. Yukimura was a bit on the frail side, though he did his best not to show it. Setting the plate of mochi on the center of the makeshift table first, he carefully carried over both cups of tea. “Need anything to sweeten your tea?”

"Sacrilege," the blue-haired boy laughed. "You should know that I'm not big on sweets to begin with." Except mochi. He always had room for mochi. Which was just about as sweet as you could get.

Sanada saw the way Yukimura was eyeing the mochi and raised a disbelieving eyebrow. Still, he didn’t grab any sugar to place on the tiny table. “I agree.”

"I'm glad to be back." He took his cup of tea into his hands, gaze resting calmly on the clear, light green liquid. "Summers are lonely, you know?"

“Yes, they are. Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice to visit my parents, any my nephew is still as much of a brat as ever, but I like being here.” Sanada nodded and nibbled at one of the mochi.

"How old is he now? Sa--sasuke-kun, right?" Yuki helped himself with a mochi as well, long delicate fingers getting dusted with a faint layer of sugary starch. "From what I remember, he's pretty... How should I say it..." He smiled, teasingly. "Respectless is the word, I think."

“He’s almost eleven now, he needs to start learning respect. And respectless is a good word for him.” Sanada scowled a bit as he sipped his tea. “How was your break?”

Taking a moment to chew and swallow a small bit of the mochi, Yuki thought. "How it was? Well... Calm, I suppose. Spent almost every day out in the family garden, painting. The painting's too big for me to bring here, or I'd show it to you." He sounded a thought apologetic.

Sanada smiled softly. “That sounds like quite the endeavor. Maybe you can finish it on the next break and take pictures of it.”

"I hope so." He sipped on the tea. Bitter, but warm, and quite lovely, he decided. "Did you hear that that leviator's son still isn't showing any progress in his classes? I find that quite odd..." Yukimura wasn't above a little bit of gossip, especially where so-called gifted students were concerned. And he enjoyed talking about powers a lot more than he did idle small talk.

Sanada leaned a little closer and picked up another mochi, gesturing with it as he spoke. “I did hear that. Which makes me think that either he’s not even trying, or he’s hiding something. He can’t possibly be that weak in actuality. And then Kirihara’s done something already. He denies it, of course, but he put that post up that was nothing but him ‘shouting’ shit.”

"Yes... I have to wonder about that. Kirihara's a handful." Still, he couldn't help but smile. "I only wish he'd watch his language. And... Not turn the entire school upside down on his first day back."

Sanada snorted in amusement. “You wouldn’t know what to do if he didn’t act that way. Neither of us would.”

"Oh, I guess so, but just imagine how peaceful everything would be." Yuki smirked. "I think I'd get bored after one or two hours, tops."

“I agree. I might almost have to start causing trouble just out of boredom.” Not that he didn’t cause a fair share in his own way. The campus computers, and even many personal computers got a kick out of helping him play tricks on the other students.

"Trouble like that time when my browser only visited kiddie sites like the Smurfs or Shin-chan or whatnot?" Yukimura quirked an eyebrow. "Either that was some sort of virus... Or it was you. And I'm leaning towards the latter."

Sanada gave Yukimura a secretive smirk and pushed the plate of mochi toward his guest. “More mochi?”

The shorter boy made a disapproving, clicking sound with his tongue, but cheerfully helped himself to another treat. "And that's all I'm going to say about that."

“Consider it revenge for you making me fall in the fountain by taking my eyesight last year.” Sanada spoke nonchalantly about the incident and nursed his tea with a hint of a smirk.

"Oh, please. You definitely needed a bath."

“I had just gotten out of the shower, the bath was not needed.”

"It's funny how you stress the little details." No, you do, dear.

Sanada rolled his eyes a bit. “Yes, I’m quite hilarious. A career in stand up comedy is certainly in my future.”

"Given how much you amuse me, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet." Yuki smirked. "However, others might be bored to death. … Unless your crowd are a bunch of bored computers, I guess."

“At least those computers can provide entertainment while sitting there. Have you ever tried to play more than one chess game at a time? I’m up to three.” Sanada picked up another mochi.

Finishing his tea in one go, Yuki shook his head. "I don't play chess at all. But... I'm impressed. I don't think I could divide my attention like that."

“It’s all part of my practise. Sanada shrugged and reached for the teapot. “Want anymore tea?”

"A little, please." His mouth felt too sweet and sticky, he needed to wash it out. "My practice is nothing like that," he mused, licking his fingers clean.

Sanada nodded and filled Yukimura’s cup about half way. “Yes, but your power requires human interaction, mine doesn’t.”

"I guess we should be happy you're not a complete hermit, no? Or we wouldn't be sitting like this. I'd hate to miss out on that." Since the words were a tad embarrassing, Yukimura focused his sole attention on the tea cup.

Sanada nodded easily, but also kept quiet. Pouring a second cup of tea for himself, he changed the subject. “So, looking forward to spending more time with Fuji?”

"As much as I look forward to pulling my teeth." Yukimura made a face. "He can be so..." Not quite finding the word he wanted to describe the fair haired boy, he simply downed all the tea in one sweeping movement... Burning his tongue in the process. "Ah!"

Sanada shook his head and tried not to laugh at the other teen. “Didn’t realize I needed to tell you that it’s hot. Which, by the way, it is.”

"Oh, shut up!" Yukimura shoved another mochi into his mouth, crossed his arms over his chest, turned away from Sanada, and sulked.

Sanada hid his grin behind his tea cup and resisted the urge to ruffle his friend’s hair. Really, it was just too funny to see the blue haired boy sulk.

After a bit of offended silence, Yukimura sighed. "You're being awfully quiet. You're laughing at me, aren't you?"

“Not at all. I wouldn’t do that to you.” Sanada lied through his teeth at the other boy.

"Sanada Genichirou, the big fat liar." Yukimura smirked. "Very well, I'll believe you. You know... As far as I can throw you." And given that Sanada knew pretty well how strong - or rather, weak - he was, he thought he made his point clear.

“As far as you can throw me, or as far as you can make me trip by taking my senses?” Sanada smirked back at the teen across from him. He had missed bantering with his friend over break.

"Not trip. Definitely not trip. Why, are you inviting me to try?"

“Of course not, just wanted to be absolutely certain. You’re the type to get people with loopholes of things that weren’t specified, so I know better than to leave too much to chance.” Sanada shook his head and poured himself some more tea. He knew he should ration it out better, but he could always write to his parents and have them send him more.

"You'll be running to the bathroom all night," Yukimura pointed out. "And... If you realize that, then you should be nicer to me." He nodded sagely. "It's only rational."

“I’ll be fine, it’s only my third cup.” Sanada shrugged and then smirked at Yukimura. “Rational, yes. Fun, less so.”

"You just be careful I don't start having some fun with you," Yukimura warned lightly as he put his arms over his head and stretched.

Sanada quirked an eyebrow at Yukimura. “What kind of fun?”

A thin smile curled the androgynous boy's lips. "Not telling~"

Sanada pouted playfully. “Tease.”

"Ara~ Surprised?"

“Not a bit, it just felt like the opportune time to state the obvious.”

"Do you like it?" If he meant if Sanada liked him being a tease, or if he liked stating the obvious, Yukimura didn't bother to specify.

“If I disliked it, I would tell you.” Sanada smiled easily.

"Would you now." For some reason, Yukimura found himself blushing. Not much, but enough so that he could feel the blood rise to his cheeks. How silly. "I should get back to my room. Finish unpacking before Fuji does who-knows-what in there."

“Probably a safe plan. You can never tell what he’ll do next.” Sanada nodded and hid a smirk at Yukimura’s blush.

"I trust him with being able to do just about anything, sadly enough." Yukimura's tone was dry as chalk as he got up, prudently brushing his mouth off. "It was good to see you again, Sanada. We'll meet tomorrow, no? I'd love to watch you play multi-chess."

Sanada stood up as well and walked Yukimura the few steps to the door. “You might get rather bored. All I do is turn on three computers and sit in the middle of them.”

"I don't think I'll be bored. I can always try and think about what I would do if I played. I may not play chess myself, but I am familiar with the rules." He nodded a heartfelt goodbye to Sanada and slipped out the door.
