[Plot Threads] Work Experience

Sep 09, 2013 20:57

In case people are having trouble with coordinating plots due to those pesky pesky timezones, I'll be setting up a space here for a semi-open log. There will be threads for each internship posting and you can meet your fellow interns there! Be it a boring day at the office...or something crazy :)

Shiraishi sighed and picked up the phone, "Relocation and Assimilation Services, may I help you? ...yes, sir. No, sir. That is available on our website, sir. Do you need the url? Ah. Yes, sir. On the left. Right under...you found it? Excellent, sir. Thank you for calling!"

Call center work. Was there anything more mind-numbingly dull? Shiraishi understood that it was an important, key part of the customer service industry and that the people calling in really needed his help. But he also understood that most of their questions were completely inane and specially formulated to drive him insane. Why couldn't common sense actually be common? He sighed again as his phone rang.

Kaidoh hissed softly under his breath, he had barely even arrived at the school and he was already at work at a Public Education service office, arranging pamphlets that included help for people with 'unusual' needs. He couldn't help but laugh softly at the irony as he carefully reached out and folded another pamphlet into three neat sections, the blue and gray scales shimmering on the tops of his hands. Unusual was the understatement.

Saeki cheerfully whistled as the kettle finished boiling at the other side of the room. Without moving from his seat, he made the hot water slowly make it's way out of the kettle and into the cups for the office. He loved having this power control, it allowed him to be so lazy when he didn't feel like walking.

...unfortunately now, he had to get up and distribute them across the workplace. Ttch. He, it wasn't like he had anything better to do. The paperwork was mostly done and there wasn't anything happening at their section. No disaster to deal with yet. Which sucked. Saeki wanted to do something useful. Coffee was not.

Ohtori had just decided he needed to stretch his legs and get something to snack on. His healing ability tended to give him a huge appetite, and quietly defeating a headache from the phones earlier had been a bit of a drain on him. Reaching the kitchen, he paused just barely avoiding the hot water.

Smiling slightly at the other mutant, he moved to reach into the refrigerator, digging out a snack from the small sack with his name scrawled neatly on it. "Want a snack?" He really didn't interact much with the other mutant at school, but was naturally friendly and honestly, who wouldn't want a snack?

Saeki shook his head. "No, I'm good Ohtori-kun." He wasn't too hungry and lunch was soon anyway. "Sorry about that, by the way. Wasn't expecting you. Did any of the water get on you?" he asked, as he collected all of the mugs onto a tray and held it up one-handed. Really, he was getting so much waiter training, lately. He hoped that it wasn't a sign that it was his future career. Being being a waiter forever would suck.

4. Civil Defense and Disaster Mitigation -- Logistics

Ryou walked in the door behind his senior who was showing him around. Civil Defense and Disaster Mitigation -- Logistics actually sounded pretty cool. Maybe he'd even get to do some flying on the job! It wasn't as much fun without Atsushi, of course, but his brother had really needed some quality time with Niou, so Ryou had signed up for an internship.

He bowed and thanked his senior for his help, then looked around to see if he could spot anyone else from the Academy.

Hiyoshi leaned back from the desk he had been assigned to. Well, to be perfectly honest, it wasn't even his own desk. More like a tiny spot the size of a sheet of paper at which he could sit and edit reports. If the first day was any indication of how the break would be, he would die of boredom unless-- oh no, a senpai was coming. The front two legs of his chair cracked against the floor as he leaned back forwards, almost as if he were working this entire time, if there had been any work assigned in front of him.

Sitting in the cubicle right next to Hiyoshi, Koharu had also spotted the familiar face coming their way. However, unlike his kouhai, the flamboyant teen was more than happy to see his classmate and cheerfully called out to him. "Ryou-kyuuuuuun~!" He exclaimed, letting out a happy giggle as he waved the twin down. "I didn't know you had ended up in our division too~! I figured you had other plans with your brother durin' the break~" The brothers seemed to always be together, so it felt odd seeing Ryou without Atsushi there as well. Nonetheless, he was sure Ryou would handle things just fine on his own ( ... )

Tomo pouted as she blew the dust off yet another old record book and sneezed again. Gosh, why they'd left her in charge of the musty old library she didn't know....she much preferred to be chatting with the people in the offices about their jobs and why they did it and explaining what they were doing.

She was a social person, damnit! Paperwork would have been better than this!
