Conor Oberst's newest album "I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning" is incredibly optimistic compared to every other album he's ever released. It's as if he's found some sort of HOPE to hold on to- that makes LIFE more tangible and attractive at the same time...I especially like the song "First Day of my Life" - I didn't know it until Connor (my Connor) wrote me a part of his lyrics on notebook paper and taped it to my door for me...
Yours is the first face that I saw
I think I was blind before I met you
Now I don’t know where I am
I don’t know where I’ve been
But I know where I want to go
Wow. For Oberst? That's pretty damn optimistic.
And I never thought this life was possible
You're the yellow bird that I've been waiting for-
