drink good tequila
the drink of choice on saturday, during our watching of the ABAMP match between phonerz and Ed online, was something i called the Plum Tequila. and since I'll Have Another, the Official Horse of the Decency League, charged to a win in the Preakness Stakes, we clearly needed to have more than one.
Plum Tequila
3 oz. suck-free tequila
1½ oz. plum syrup
juice of ½ a lemon
mix it up, serve other ice, top it with some tonic water.
Conrad brought over a bottle of this stuff today.
Orendain definitely counts as suck-free tequila. unlike that mixto Cuervo crap, Orendain makes 100% agave tequilas. this particular Ollitas is a blue agave tequila, 77 proof, and i found it retails for around $25 a bottle. supersmooth drinking. this particular bottle sponge brought us is 30 years old, and is about the mellowest tequila you'll ever drink - which is why you need to be careful with this particular cocktail, of course. thats 3 oz. of tequila in that. you can get stupid in a hurry with those, albeit in a decidedly easygoing way.
