1884

i was going to write up a faux Berkeley tourney report as an April Fools joke, but i ran out of steam since i also directed the tourney today.

nothing too ridiculous happened on the directorial front, other than about 70% of the scorecards containing math errors.

i gained all of 2 rtg. pts. to 1884 in Berkeley. 3-3 +96, 3rd place. obliterating phonerz 536-342 in the last game allowed me to sneak into 3rd by 2 spread pts. played well at times, played like an idiot at times. i felt decidedly mediocre, but the bottom line is that anytime you cash and your rating goes up, its a good tourney. thats 6 straight tourneys in which i've cashed and the rating gone up, so the streak continues, even if i wasnt playing at my best today. i'm blaming it on the excessive amount of incense burning in The Viceroy, which set my allergies off. i was a sneezosaurus.

good to have our cast of walking wounded back at the tourney today - Lester has recovered well from his surgery and says he will lose the crutch here soon; Mary has a cast on her broken hand and phonerz is getting around well for recently having knee surgery.

K-STEE moved to 1623 and finished 2nd in div. 2. with all this goodness, pizza and beer were essential after the tourney.
