i was in div. 2 today in Berkeley. 6-0, +680, 476 avg., 19 bingos, rating gain of 74 pts. to 1748

i think you might call that a good tournament. in fact, i'd be surprised if i ever have a better one.

i'm still sort of baffled, actually.

Well done! I do think you will have a better tournament though, since you've already had plenty. 3rd in Arcata and 4th in CO are longer (and thus lower-variance) tournaments with better fields, and I think your 3rd at SLO was also probably better.

Bobby Gee's afterwards. pizza-and-beer-as-god-intended. and the 7 of us who went for pizza who played - me, sponge, KC, phonerz, pete, mike, ed - all cashed.

and i do think i'll have some good events this year. i had good multidays last year, but in the 1 days i generally played terrible. it was more that the numbers were just sorta staggering. pretty much everything went right, even the bad racks had magical spots on the board to put stuff.

our div 2's in these 1-days are pretty good right now, loaded with div. 1 regulars who have been displaced by all of the good players moving here. its a very good field. i felt very happy to do so well.
