props for the Mavs. they play the right way, they share the ball, they play as a team. i hate the NBA, but i am pro-Mavs because Cuban was THE ONE GUY in the NBA's ranks who spoke out against the Oklahoma City robber barons when they stole the Sonics from Seattle. seeing Dallas crush the Zombi Sonics in the playoffs this year was delightful. seeing the house of hubris that was the Miami Heat crash and burn was almost as good. LeBron may have took his talents to south beach, but Dallas took the title away from it. suck it LeBron. good guys win.
a nice story which i wouldnt otherwise care about: just like myself and a whole lotta others associated with the U.C., the Cal baseball team was told last fall that they were being eliminated. the university then relented, said they could continue if they could raise $10,000,000 in about 6 weeks' time or so. well then the alumni and the former Bears who played in the MLB's got together and raised the money pretty much overnight, the program was saved and now they're off to the CWS. good guys win again. its nice when that happens.
this is the wackiest Giants season i have ever seen so far (and after last year, thats saying something). theyre in 1st despite having most of their starting lineup on the DL, some for the year. they cant hit a lick but they somehow win games. its delightfully confounding to watch this team.
oh yeah, and there is that hockey game tonight as well ...
