MF is efficient in taking down manga, because they have relatively efficient mods. If anyone's uploading the scans/chapters, those are the members themselves. So once the representative of the scanlation group posts a thread at those MF forums, they remove it rather swiftly. This is the reason why I also read MF because I think they at least make an effort to go through the scanlators before allowing works to be posted up. They also have a list of scanlators too.

One thing I don't like about MF is that they allow users to upload files themselves and the modding process doesn't check whether it's allowed or not before approving. I know it's hard to go to every site available to check their policy regarding distribution of files, but the uploader should be held responsible for it. I'd say ban that ass or something D8!

Scanlators usually spends more time and love on a chapter than official releases. Passion > Income for us, and Income > Passion for publishers. But some scanlators do such a crappy job speed scans are shitI ended up buying Jap tanks. Thank god I could read them, or else... D8 I don't want to suffer through badly typeset manga!

Well, I took one on one classes with my sensei for 3 years, we didn't really cover much grammar more like I've completely forgotten already at the later stage. But what I love about the class is that he gave me so many articles to read and I had to translate them from Japanese to English. I think that's why I can read better than I write. I never took any JLPT exams to test myself, but my bf's always teasing my grammar can't blame me!!.
I find having to know how to read Chinese helps with Japanese. But it's also bad 'cause I tend to skip learning grammar properly when I already understand the text thanks to Kanji. D:

Well, MF's pretty much a lost case to me. As long as they obey whatever the publisher says and take down licensed links, I'm fine with them. Scanlators shouldn't have anything to fear. I mean, at least the publishers are giving them warning wtih C&D letters. If the scanlators still continue scanlating the series even with the letter, then that'll be a problem.
O.O I didn't know that exist. Most of the companies in Japan, when they're hiring foreigners, they're always looking for at least level 2 JLPT level. So I thought everybody has to take that exam.

We're only doing shoujo now, and we're trying to move onto BL but to do that we have to separate the group to prevent crazy shoujo fangirls from coming after us. Funny thing is, half the staff likes BL. We tend to have BL inserts in our releases and one of the readers bitched about us corrupting innocent people's mind and that we should just stuff that BL crap up our ass. :D Lesson learnt. Any ideas which titles you'd like to do? You can list out all the titles you're interested in and we'll just shortlist them.
After experiencing so much crappy new editors who just leave before even finishing 1 chapter, we're going get every editors to work on one title before moving on to another. So, we're releasing by volumes this time. :D

But PWP is the easier to translate, but hell to edit thanks to all the overlapping sfx, like sekaiichi... I'll check for you whether the manga has furigana or not. A completely new scanlation website, our own domain and all since the same guy who's hosting our current site's hosting the subgroup too. :D We're not so anal about file distribution 'cause there's no way we can really control them. Besides, wordpress is wonderful!

Yeah. If she can do without furigana, I'd rather not pick it up, since it'll be a translation from a translation, which causes even more inaccuracies. But if she drops it, and Chinese scans are going to continue, then sure I'll use the Chinese scans.

Well, I cross check scripts that's translated from Chinese to insure accuracy, so translating from Chinese isn't a problem. Our scripts usually go through 2 people anyway. :D
Btw, I'll be ordering the books tonight so I can pick them up from Kinokuniya on Friday. My sister said she'll try ordering tanks from Malaysia's Kinokuniya since they brought in so many hardcore manga like View Finder and Libre's stuff. If worse comes to worse, I'll send the tanks to my friend who's a scanner. So no rush to get the titles you want to work on. :)

But PWP is the easier to translate, but hell to edit thanks to all the overlapping sfx, like sekaiichi... I'll check for you whether the manga has furigana or not. I think some publisher's work doesn't have them. If not, I'll start hunting for Chinese scans. Shouldn't be too hard, right?
A completely new scanlation website, our own domain and all since the same guy who's hosting our current site's hosting the subgroup too. :D We're not so anal about file distribution 'cause there's no way we can really control them. Besides, wordpress is wonderful!

Goodness, throw me Chinese scans anytime. I'm not taking (well, 'taken') Chinese at higher level in IB for nothing! :O I've been speaking it for as long as I can remember, so I can do translations easily for you guys. If there are any to offer. You can list me as a Chinese translator (or backup).

I don't even know they put a limit to the amount of friends you'll have... Usually I just get jdownloader to download my manga for me. I just copy the link and the program's clever enough to pick it up. :D

I think you'll have to fight with our proofreaders for scripts. But, sure, if you're interested, drop us a mail. But, naomii has the final say in the application since I'll just take everybody regardless if they're able or not. As for translations, don't worry about tanks, we'll give you scans. :D

LOL isn't it good to be OCD. I'm like that too. I clean and redraw everything, just got to have the page textless before I pass it on to the typesetter. :D Did I mention I hate sfx translations? Especially when it comes to smut?

No no, they can reup/redistribute anywhere, we really don't care, as long as they credit us and remove the links once it's licensed, provided they use their own link of course. No hotlinking the DDL since the site and the files are hosted by different people. :D We sorta have a limit for the files for now...

Yeah it's ongoing. I have vol 1 raw, took it off nihono but then can't read it to save my own life since it's got quite a load of kanji that I will need to spend time searching for...>>;

Unless y'know, Ijuuin is the final character that will sorta be appearing to break Misaki and Usagi apart, and there's no more story after this, meaning the end, I'll just finish scans with it. xD

Well, could you check with sooky whether she's wants to joint with us or not? But if we're going to do a joint, I guess the both of you have to fight it out who's going to do the translations... Or you could PR the book, or something... :D Yea... Anyway, if you're not free, I could contact her myself... I'm going to buy the book instead of using public raw files 'cause the quality just sucks.

I can really only do the Chinese scans, but the Japanese ones I...think it's too hard. I don't like things without furigana. T.T
Dunno~ I put up summaries for it on my LJ, actually. For chapters 24 and 26. He might be doing it on purpose to make Usagi angry. xD;; I dunno. Ijuuin feels a little like the last straw that Nakamura-sensei can pull. I dunno if she can come up with more ideas.

Heh~ I don't really know her well, and seeing as she likes doing "Feng Yu jiu tian" that Chinese one, I think she's going to work solo and work very hard on it. I myself don't like joints unless we're really very close or that we've at least talked quite a bit one-on-one with each other, and we're both cool about each other, then yes. :P
Yeah. If she can do without furigana, I'd rather not pick it up, since it'll be a translation from a translation, which causes even more inaccuracies. But if she drops it, and Chinese scans are going to continue, then sure I'll use the Chinese scans.
It began to get kind of draggy indeed, but it's still quite fun to see her humor. :3

I got one PM on MF asking me to scanlate act 24, and I was like, "....do you know how many bloody freaking pages there are kthxbaiiii?" That person never replied, though. xD

Well, I cross check scripts that's translated from Chinese to insure accuracy, so translating from Chinese isn't a problem. Our scripts usually go through 2 people anyway. :D
Btw, I'll be ordering the books tonight so I can pick them up from Kinokuniya on Friday. My sister said she'll try ordering tanks from Malaysia's Kinokuniya since they brought in so many hardcore manga like View Finder and Libre's stuff. If worse comes to worse, I'll send the tanks to my friend who's a scanner. So no rush to get the titles you want to work on. :)
Humour? I guess. I love some of the cute scenes but I feel like it's not worth the money spent seeing repeated scenes.
Aw, isn't that good. :D I love appreciative fans, they're such awesome people! And people asking for scanlations are just so inconsiderate. There must be a reason why the chapter isn't out/scanlated yet. And most of the time is because the scanlator is busy with life... Scanlation should be a hobby dammit! Or else we'll lose the loveeeee!
