Sorry, I just never got around to doing this. I wanted to get this done earlier, but I forgot. Hope you'll enjoy this one! I'll leave out some random details and just summarize - you can get the details once Zama is done with it!
PLEASE DON'T ADD ME FOR MY TRANSLATIONS ONLY OR I'LL PUNCH YOU!
For this, refer to whichever you like - the raws or the Chinese scans. It's up to you! Both are the same.
We start off with Akimoto (somehow I remember his name the best, and why he so cute in this chapter?!) looking painfully distressed. Why? Ahhh, what else, if you'll recall in volume 5, chapter 1, there's something big going on. And yet sadistic!Satou had to remind Akimoto of this...horrible event - THE MARATHON. Run by Arima Machiko, Student Council President. They both told him that if he really doesn't want to do it, then might as well not go.
But, as you can see, Makimura is DEFINITELY not letting him do that because it's "Machiko-san" who's come up with the idea. Makimura drags poor Akimoto off to "persuade more participants". (Really Makimura, you must be stupid. D:)
Satou doesn't see the point in their efforts of trying to pull people into it since all the girls have already signed up. Yoshida wonders why, but doesn't get a reply since at this point, the art twins RETURN, Nozawa twins~
Yoshida's finding something really odd about this meeting, especially with the sister. She wonders why he's looking at her like this, and then he replies that it's been a while he's seen a girl's face in this school. The truth is, as explained by the brother, that the girls didn't go to school for the last 10 days. (...this manga amuses me SO MUCH. If only if we could do this irl...!)
Apparently, Yoshida has never realized this, but all the girls are aiming for the prize of this marathon. All three of them start wondering if Yoshida's just slow, or thickheaded or something, but the twins agree that he's a "natural" in that. (Poor Yoshida...) Anyway, the two of them are also taking part in the marathon.
Meanwhile, Yoshida wonders what the prize is while the other three (or well just the twins) are talking, about how awesome their art will be. xD;; Yoshida puts the following three points together (pg 9):
1. All the girls are participating.
2. All of them are aiming for the prize.
3. They started a special training 10 days before.
What other answers do you get, but Satou as the prize? xD Yoshida is again, being considered super slow for the twins. Anyway, it's a one-day alone with Satou thing again, like last time. Satou is a little irked that the bunch of girls didn't even ask him permission for it (srsly? They need to ask you permission for this?!).
..All three of them gang up bullying poor Yoshida, that anyone normal would be able to tell by the situation that it's to fight for Satou. (S-So mean to poor Yoshida...!)
Anyway, school's over (pg 10)...Yoshida realizes that they've been together for quite awhile, and just the two of them without the girls being around. And hah, Yoshida is actually really happy about it thanks to the marathon, but he's showing signs of disappointment thinking about what will happen once this marathon is over. Well, the girls are going to be disturbing them all over again.
Satou, being your every day typical teaser, teases Yoshida if he really likes to "monopolize" him. Of course, Yoshida (so cute!! *____*) blushes and tries to deny it at first, and then he looks away and admits to it. (...Why can't Misaki act like this once in awhile?! /cries) He even adds that it's "normal". (In this case, it's normal to want to try to have all the attention of the person you like~ ♥) Aaaaand we're back with Satou's weird face, again. Yoshida notices that Satou's face is red, and points his finger at him, to which the taller man tells him to stop pointing. And Yoshida insists that his face really is weird, and once again Satou is embarrassed, and tells him to stop pointing his finger.
Weeee~ And in comes Nishida! (I kind of missed him, and his smiles.) Nishida came over since he saw Yoshida, and...ahh hah, didn't quite notice Satou. (Who wouldn't notice someone like Satou?!) As much as they're immediate loggerheads at each other every time they see each other, Satou this time didn't actually cook up such a big fuss about it. He just assumes that angry, irritated frown...
Meanwhile, Nishida asks if Yoshida's going for the marathon, and says that he's going for the marathon too. The reason? It's because Makimura (He's got a nickname now, called "scribble", haha!) had asked him to participate. Of course, that isn't the main reason - it's also because Yoshida's going for it. :3
And then, Nishida wishes Yoshida a good day and bids goodbye. (Awwww ♥) Yoshida comments that he's frank indeed, and Satou wonders out loud if that kind of person (referring to Nishida) is good. (In this sense, preferences, I guess. With people who are frank and open about their own...feelings?) Satou goes, "Heh~ As I expected, he's the kind you--" And then he turns and goes away, saying it's time to go home, making a weird face and a weird frown. xD
And woot, we zoom to the second day, the day just before the marathon! (Pg 18) Students are saying that tomorrow will probably rain, and they're wondering if the marathon will be canceled. For this piece of news, Akimoto sure is happy if it comes true, while Makimura jeers and tells him not to be happy.
Meanwhile, Yoshida approaches Satou, asking if Satou's made a
teru teru bozu, ...which looks suspiciously like Makimura~ And Satou recalls that Makimura did ask to make one (if you're too lazy to read, it's to wish for sunshine).
Anyway, they both leave, and on the way they wonder if tomorrow will really rain. Yoshida wonders if the marathon will be postponed if it rains tomorrow. He also openly asks if he'll be able to go back with Satou, which Satou...agrees, with a weird expression.
Before Yoshida could even say anything, Satou is denying his funny expression. Again. The reason (we've kind of heard something like this a few chapters ago...?) is because he can't make expressions he really wants at will - he can't be...entirely truthful. (Ahhh, this calls for some discussion, maybe! Is it natural since young, or was it because of his time spent in 'fat camp' that made him turn out this way?) Yoshida finds this terribly amusing and smiles at Satou, who says that he "can't be like Nishida".
Surprisingly, Yoshida returns with a question (pg 22), "Hm? // Isn't that all right?" / "I'm fine with that! Anything bad?" And Satou ponders it for awhile, before giving his charming smile on pg 23 (at this point translator melts into a puddle of goo) and says, "If you say it's fine, then it's fine."
Eh heh heh heh...Yoshida's heart goes BADUMP and Satou brings up this suggestion - to skip the marathon and go on a DATE, to which Yoshida splutters hard at, and tries to reason with Satou that Makimura has spent efforts on getting them to make the teru teru bozu and also to persuade people to join. Satou insists that he really wants a date, and manages to make Yoshida admit to "kind of want" a date. xD;; That settled...
And we enter into the next day, the marathon day. And hey...
IT'S FREAKIN' POURIN'. But Arima Machiko, the goddamn student council president announces that it still goes on! Makimura, in a corner, watches in awe as his 'girl' is still so hyped up. The twins, spurned by this determination of the president, also feels like 'drawing' while Akimoto wants to get out of this.
But Makimura tells him to "be a man" (omg reminds me of Russell Peter's standup comedy about him purchasing some bag...) and go on with it.
Anyway, we zoom back to Yoshida and Satou's date...
Apparently, Yoshida's mom called him stupid for going out to play on such a rainy day. They decide to just stay around there and watch a movie, and relax in that same building.
We now switch back to the marathon (drench-a-thon, anyone?) and Machiko is seriously running while thinking that she is doing it for Satou! While watching Machiko run, the twins (at least the brother) is drawing. And, lol, he complains that it's hard to draw under such conditions - running. (...Uh, WHY THE HELL AREN'T YOU THE LEAST BIT CONCERNED THAT YOU ARE DRAWING IN WET CONDITIONS?! Unless you have this magical pen and paper...)
SUDDENLY! ...There are freakin' holes in the ground. (Just, what am I reading? What is this chapter? Is this even Aitsu no Daihonmei anymore? *tears hair out*) And the girls are falling in. And it seems like the twins don't even care as they go on to draw, wondering if it's prepared for those who have no confidence in their own legs (running power, setting traps so others can fall in lol?).
Slowly, one after another, more girls are falling into holes. Nishida, being helpful as usual, goes around to try and help while Akimoto continues to complain... D: Apparently, there are even banana skins on the floor, and people even changed the directions. (...Is this really Aitsu no Daihonmei I'm reading?)
As they fight, Yoshida and Satou are relaxing somewhere (restaurant?) and they want to stay on, since the rain isn't stopping anytime soon.
Finally, shifting back to the marathon, Machiko has finally climbed up and decides that the current competition is to be nullified LOL. And the twins wonder what her next 'installment' will be.
And that's about it! Hope you enjoyed~ Discuss as you like, over at the comm or here. ;D
