So I finally managed to catch up pretty much~
And finished up to where DP's released everything. I'll admit I was bloody lazy and just read it off MangaFox.
Right now, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi is fresh, with some kind of a plot (...I think?) that's already moving on, and it's great! But I can't help but feel it's going to turn into another Junjou Romantica-esque kind of long running series. With...nearly the same thing happening. Except maybe for once Ritsu's going to deny it a lot less than Misaki always does.
Again, to make fans go squeal and stuff, seems like they are holding off on revealing the actual reason behind Ritsu and Takano's break up. I believe that'll be the thing which maaaaaay conclude the story, so they're going to drag out as long as possible before revealing it.
Yokozawa's still the ass that he always is, but still, poor guy. Basically ,Takano started it and didn't end it properly, huh. Shame on you! Tsktsk. If you ended it well, maybe Yokozawa wouldn't be harassing poor Ritsu. Or well, Ritsu needs to stand up a bit for himself too and stop taking in everything. Maybe give Yokozawa a smack or something. 8D
Aside from that, I'm strangely not quite enjoying the main pairing as much as a lot of people are. :O It's a fun read, but I prefer seeing Yukina and Kisa. I think it's a bit of a Hiroki and Nowaki-complex that has retained itself since...forever. Actually, if you noticed, the second couple of both series all have issues with 'time' and 'not being able to meet', if you'll recall Egoist act 15, and many instances before that.
The only difference between like...Ritsu and Misaki is that Misaki is lovely because he flails so goddamn much so I laugh whenever he does that. Ritsu is lovely because he's just unable to cope with things like that. Hmm, I'm strange but I like Misaki more, maybe because he's always being annoying and grumbling about things and, yeah, the flailing. :D
Oh, but the two of them have this strange want to be independent, but somehow always end up relying on another person for support. And their semes are the kind to try to take possession and be a tad bit more forceful towards their ukes.
.....It's like they just replaced the old character's faces with a new one, slapped with a new name, and a rather different setting.
In any case, SiH has got relatively awesome progress right now, but I somehow have a feeling it may just turn into another JR-long-running problem. In fact right now, SiH has got a slight bit of a drag happening, but I hope not for long. :\ (I don't keep up with the translations and stuff because I'm too lazy to read them...And I'm lazy to source out the RAWs/Chinese scans too...)
