Haha, I love how you list watching animes as a "to-do" list! It should be a pleasure, not an obligation, I think. But I have a good German friend who also lists watching anime/reading manga as a to-do list.

You know, I used to be completely infatuated with Death Note, and while I'm not anymore, to this day I think it was on a whole other level above and beyond any other anime/manga I've encountered, in many ways.

Yes, it is a to-do list. xD;; For me, 'cause I have been wanting to watch them but I kept putting them off, so it's really something I've been wanting to-do, I guess. :)

:O Really? I heard Death Note was so epic, I decided I should also watch it. And also Monster, 'cause Monster's scary and psychological.

You know, when I first watched Death Note, I had never heard of it before (I was totally unaware of all the hype). I was just studying for exams at the time and wanted to procrastinate, so I watched all the yaoi I could find online, and when that ran out, I wanted something else to watch. I watched the first ep of death note because I thought Light was hot, and I remember being far beyond impressed. I was like saying aloud to myself 'wow, this is /very/ good...' Just everything about it - the art, the complexity of the characters and the story, were above and beyond any anime I'd seen up to that point. After having watched the whole thing I can say it isn't perfect and it had let me down at times, I by no means idolize it - but even so, now that today I'm no longer in love with it like I once were, I still think it's on a level above anything else I'd seen. I think the fandom kinda ruined it for me eventually, people can be irritating in any fandom and eventually they kinda ruined it for me and my love waned, but if you can put that ( ... )

I think the fandom kinda ruined it for me eventually, people can be irritating in any fandom and eventually they kinda ruined it for me and my love waned, but if you can put that aside I recommend you watch it.Maybe this is the reason why I always leave certain places' fandom rather quickly because of annoying people. I bet there were the LightxL debates or something, since so many of them were shipping this pairing. I think that pissed everyone off for sometime. XD ( ... )

Oh I like the yaoi associated with Death Note, I think it's very difficult not to like L and Light together (to be honest, when I started watching I had no idea there would be an L, I thought the show was just about Light so when L showed up I was surprised and thrilled). But the fandom was extremely irritating regardless, people have ruined both characters for me. I think If you kind of stay away from that and just try to watch the show on your own maybe you won't get annoyed ( ... )

Yeah, I'll probably sit through the whole epic saga in two days, like I did with 63 episodes with Bleach. xD;;

Indeed. Nothing is ever perfect. There's always the pros, and there's always the cons.

I get what you mean - sometimes anime is really just for you to enjoy. I dunno, but sometimes certain people just like to 'look under the underneath', so to say, "read deep into it." There's always no fault reading deep into it. I think I'll stay away from the fandom until I finish watching it. :3

You can say those silly things that those fans said after I've watched the show. :)
